Screen Australia Filmmaker Masterclass at
2024 Australian International Movie Convention

The Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) is the key annual film conference that brings together local and international executives from Cinema Exhibition, Film Distribution and Production.

This year the event will be held on the Gold Coast from Monday 28th October until Friday 1st November. AIMC provides a valuable opportunity to preview upcoming product from major and independent distributors, learn about local and international trends in exhibition and network with decision-makers, colleagues and senior industry executives.

Exposure to this event provides Australian filmmakers with valuable insights into the theatrical marketplace and the important final steps their projects will take from production to the big screen. It is also an opportunity to gain an understanding of the competitive landscape and the quality of marketing materials needed to successfully launch a film.

This year Screen Australia has partnered with AIMC on a new program designed to increase engagement and attendance for Australian filmmakers. The preliminary program is now online: https://cinemaassociation.asn.au/convention/program/.

The Screen Australia Filmmaker Masterclass on Monday is dedicated to Australian production with the screening of a high-profile local film, and other exciting information sessions presented by Robert Connolly and Sue Maslin to be announced soon. Click flyer on the left for more details.

“The Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) unites the Australian cinema industry, bringing exhibition, distribution and the creative film making community together to discuss emerging trends, share ideas, explore opportunities for collaboration and to showcase upcoming releases.”
